Why Learn Visually?

C++ is a fairly advanced form of programming code, and learning it can be extremely difficult for someone who learns through seeing. C++ Basics for Visual Learners is specially designed to help visual learners quickly learn and obtain abstract concepts that may be difficult to teach visually, or for visual learners to be taught through other means.

Watch the introductory video below!

*The actual tutorial comes as a PDF file and does not include sound.

There are three basic types of learning – visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. Visual learners are able to memorize sights and objects easily, and have an excellent sense of instinctive direction. Auditory learners can more easily pick out sounds, and remember specific things people have said.  Kinesthetic learners learn by doing, and can remember the exact technique or motions required to perform a specific task. Our course in C++ Basics for Visual Learners is meant to take advantage of the way visual learners retain information, and to present what is normally not a visual thing in a way that they can more easily understand and remember.

If you learn visually, you will be able to recognize how much easier our C++ for visual learners program is for you to understand right off the bat. We use several different techniques in order to make things more clear. We take advantage of the visual learner’s ability for critical thinking, because he or she tends to be able to link verbal and visual information and make connections more easily. Visual learners also retain information at a higher rate when presented visually, so we work with lots of visual aids.

We connect new ideas to prior knowledge, so that you not only have familiar ground to stand on but have the old ideas reinforced.  We have even included a "Putting It All Together" section that will walk you step by step in creating a console game.

Our course is also very well organized, which is important to maintaining a clear understanding with visual learning.  Learn the basic fundamentals of C++ that will get you started in creating your own games.

If you are interested in learning C++, then trying our course in C++ for visual learners is a great way to start. Even if you have little to no previous programming experience, our special course is designed to get you the results you want in a relatively short amount of time. Despite the fact that a programming language is not the most natural thing to present visually, the fact that we do makes it faster for visual learners to understand.

Our tutorials take you step by step through every stage from downloading the programming environment to creating your own console game!

Although there are many development environments that are available, please note that this tutorial uses Microsoft® Visual C++.

Who will benefit from this tutorial?

This tutorial was written for individuals with little to no programming experience.  It would be difficult to learn C++ using this tutorial alone.  The tutorial covers the basic concepts of how to declare and use variables, decision/switch statements, loops, functions, arrays, pointers, enumerations and classes.  If you have trouble understanding these basic concepts, then this tutorial is just for you!

However, if you do have programming experience and are already familiar with these concepts, then this tutorial may not be suitable for you as it may seem too basic for you.

Accelerated C++: Practical Programming by Example (C++ In-Depth Series)has been recommended for those seeking a more advanced introductory tutorial that adheres to ANSI Standards.
