Interval 2 Method

Based on the Circle of Fifths, I noticed that all major scales that contained sharp keys began on a white key (except F#) and all major scales that contained flat keys began on a black key

(except F).

I also noticed that when moving towards the right or up from C, the number of sharps increased by intervals of 2.

When moving to the left or down from C, the number of flats also increase by intervals of 2.

Looking at the piano this way made it easy for me to remember how many flats and sharps each key had.

Here, you try it!

Using this formula, see if you can determine how many sharps or flats are in the key of G?  What about the key of E
